Title Canal Street, East Millstone, NJ (c. 1910)
Year Range from 1901
Year Range to 1910
Description Looking North on Canal Street, which once ran along the Canal in East Millstone. At right front is the Railroad Hotel (also known as Pace's Hotel) on the corner of Canal Street and Livingston Avenue. In 1860 it was a hotel known as Vanderveer House, run by J.H. Vanderveer. The building with the cupola is a storehouse. The one next to it is the porch of Wilson's store. The A-shaped canal swing bridge and the bridgetender's house are visible in the background. Of the buildings pictured, all that remains is the bridgetender's house located at the beginning of the present Millstone Causeway.
