Title The Wade boys on the River (3)
Date 06/27/1931
Year Range from 1931
Year Range to 1940
Description Three boys relax on the banks of the Millstone River on a bright, sunny June day. The boys are Elton's nephews, George H., Alan T. and, his namesake, Elton Leslie Wade. The poses in this picture are different from those in 2009.1.133, 2009.1.1612 and 2009.1.2417. George is napping on his stomach under his hat, one arm supporting his head, the other stretched out above. Meanwhile Alan stares at the canal. Young Leslie sits between them holding a fishing pole.

This photo is a companion piece to Elton H.L. Wade's most notable photograph. It also showed the boys at the canal and was submitted in an international contest sponsored by Eastman Kodak. Elton won the first prize of $100. That photograph was featured in a full-page ad on the back cover of the Saturday Evening Post on July 2, 1932.
