Seven young men make up the "swimming party" They are wearing a variety of swimming outfits. The outfit on the man in the middle has the initials J&J on it. The exposure was for 15 seconds, which may account for the blurriness of the sixth man.

Polar bear(s) at Brooklyn's Prospect Park Zoo (4) - 09/10/1938

The big (male?) polar bear splashes into the pool. The smaller bear is further up the rocks of their pen. Their attention is caught by something off to the right. As the big bear is further back in this picture then in 303 it's possible the sequence of events has been disturbed and this picture was actually taken before 304.

Image of Polar bear(s) at Brooklyn's Prospect Park Zoo (5) - 09/10/1938

Polar bear(s) at Brooklyn's Prospect Park Zoo (5) - 09/10/1938

Another shot of three polars bears in the cage. The big one is in the pool, intently watching something. The smaller on on the rocks has sat down, but it's paying attention to whatever the other is watching. The third polar bear, farther up the rocks, may be distracted by an itch as it appears to be scratching its head. Behind it, hidden in the "rocks", a metal access door can be seen. Also, the barkless trunk of a tree, mangled main branches spread to the sky, offers the bears something other than rocks and water to interact with.

Image of Polar bear(s) at Brooklyn's Prospect Park Zoo (6) - 09/10/1938

Polar bear(s) at Brooklyn's Prospect Park Zoo (6) - 09/10/1938

The polar bears are now giving all their attention to the right side of their pen. Perhaps it is feeding time?
